My Story
After unsuccessful stints on piano and clarinet, I found my calling at age 11 when I picked up an electric bass for the first time. Like many kids my age, I was obsessed with bands like Blink-182 and Green Day, and all I wanted to do was get famous playing in my own pop-punk band one day. As I grew as a musician, I discovered that bass is the backbone of virtually every style of music. That realization opened the door to other genres like jazz, funk, R&B, rock, Latin music, and beyond, introducing me to the legendary players who have continually expanded what's possible on the instrument. Music quickly turned into my lifelong passion.
This passion led me to Berklee College of Music in Boston, where I got to expand my musical world further and even study with some of my heroes. While honing my skills as a bassist, I also immersed myself in composition, production, music technology, and audio engineering, earning my degree in Contemporary Writing and Production in 2011. During my time at Berklee I studied with some of the greats of the bass world, including Esperanza Spalding, Danny Morris, Oscar Stagnaro, John Funkhouser, and others.
I'm grateful for the teachers and mentors who challenged me, encouraged my curiosity, and helped shape me into the musician I am today. Their influence continues to inspire the way I approach teaching, and sharing that sense of discovery with my students is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Let's Make Music
My ultimate goal is to equip students with the skills and confidence to become lifelong learners on the bass. By building a strong musical and technical foundation, I want my students to feel empowered to pursue whatever musical path inspires them — whether that's playing in a band, writing songs, performing professionally, or simply enjoying music for years to come.
